Each dish will be independently judged by our panel and scored in secret until a winner is decided to receive the Food Festival Master Chef Trophy. 19th September Dine at my table Time: 7.30 pm The Theme for the evening is Traditional 'Suriani Christian' delicacies or Syrian Christian cuisine Syrian Christian cuisines in Kerala are 2000 years old which, according to research, is a mix of Portuguese influence, British flavour and Kerala tradition. Because of this, this type of food tends to be mild in spices. This diet is predominately non-vegetarian. The flavour of food depends on fresh produce, stone ground spices and special utensils using coconut oil. Free entry Approximately 40 minutes 25. 09. 2011 11am Generation Cookery Game Judges: Sharmini Thomas and 'Lord Mayor of York'- Venue: The Guildhall (off St Helen's Square) An entirely different spin on The Generation Game we all know and love. This time it's food that takes the centre stage as the main game and, there's not a cuddly toy in sight! A Bar and Mini Café will be available for purchasing light refreshments throughout the day. Free entry Contestants representing a generation of each Family compete by frantically preparing and cooking a family favourite for our judges in 40 minutes. Each dish is scored in secret and a winner announced. Sadly there will be no conveyor belt of prizes, but the highly revered Food Festival Trophy is up for grabs!
